RSE Report

ACT have been deeply troubled by the contact we’ve had with Christian Teachers over the last few years. Our correspondence with members has increasingly highlighted worrisome materials and has indicated that the trajectory in RSE is indeed not sensationalised.  The complaints have ranged from teachers being forced to deliver unscientific materials, class trips to Pride marches, to drag queen story times for 4-year-olds being held against their class teacher’s wishes.

But these are anecdotes. Are they isolated incidents? Is mainstream schooling ‘buying into’ ideological attempts to educate our nation’s children about sex and relationships to some level or another? And are Christian perspectives on issues such as marriage, sex and gender truly allowed a genuine hearing alongside progressive interpretations of the curriculum?

ACT’s research into the treatment of traditional Christian perspectives in RSE has been collated into a report, which you can read here.
