Rating:

This book is one of nine books forming an excellent series from RE Today Services edited by Joyce Mackley. These are tried and tested ideas covering Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism. Helpful sections highlight ideas for Early Years, KS1 Lower KS2 and Upper KS2.
I especially liked the children’s own comments carefully chosen from a variety of faith communities. Each group of children were asked the same questions: What does worship mean to you and your family? How does prayer make you feel? What is your most spiritual place? and If you could pick one special item to represent worship for you, what would it be and why?
For example, Chloe, who is Roman Catholic, spoke of ‘the swirly feeling she has inside as an altar server in her church, whilst Rebekah tells us she thinks of other people who need our prayers when she receives bread and wine at communion. Children from other faith communities, too, speak of the power of prayer and the importance of worship.
A great resource for the primary classroom!
