Church Mission Society
Rating:

This Easter Teaching resource has been produced by The Diocese of London and The Church Missionary Society with support form The Westhill Endowment. The pack contains six ideas for workshops exploring the main events in the Easter story in a glossy good quality A4 spiralbound booklet together with six pictures by photographer Dennis Morris depicting modern day representations of six key happenings in the Easter story. These cover Palm Sunday, The Last Supper, Gethsemane, The Trial, Crucifixion and Resurrection. The teachers’ resource book also gives ten collective worship ideas for use before and after Easter. There are four outlines to choose from before Easter, and six ideas to use afterwards.
I particularly liked’ The Road to Emmaus’ which developed the idea of a’ mystery man’.
Children are invited to think how they feel being falsely accused as in ‘The Trial.’
The script gives ideas for telling the story. For example, a purple pashmina, dice, nails, sponge and crown of thorns is needed for ‘The Crucifixion’, which forms part of Workshop Five.
The beauty of these resources [workshop ideas, collective worship outlines and photographs] are that of course you can take them and adapt them for your own situation, be that in church or school.
The pack is also available from CMS and can be downloaded for free at www.cms-uk.org/easterpack
How's that for a free Easter gift!
