National Science and Engineering Week Pray for Christian science teachers in their witness, that they will be able to show students that science does not disprove Christianity, rather it points us to our Creator God.

The Independent Schools’ Council has its annual conference in London today.  Pray that Christians will be able to contribute to the dialogue and “promote and preserve the quality, diversity and excellence of UK independent education both at home and abroad”.

Christian teachers who teach engineering: a Cinderella area of the curriculum which, in fact, is immensely creative and rewarding. Pray that these teachers will be able to get across their enthusiasm for the subject, and model the inspiring role of the engineer.

Kenya IcFEM (Interchristian Fellowships’ Evangelical Mission) Dreamland Education Centre, Kimilili. Pray for the Christian teachers at our Mission school and in the Mission’s Local Transformation Units to grow in faith, work with integrity and be good witnesses.

Sport Relief today means that ACT members may be involved in additional events, and at the same time in raising money for “people living unimaginably tough lives, both here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.”

Tomorrow is World Poetry Day.  Pray for Christians who express their faith in the poetry they write.  Pray also for teachers of literature who seek to help students understand the spiritual dimension in our great poetical heritage.

PSALM 82:3-4 (NSRV) Give justice to the weak and orphan; maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Paraguay Jo Hazleton of the Church Mission Society asks that we pray for pastor Luis Echeverria as he completes his theological education and for his desire to prepare his thesis on the theme of the Presence of God. Grant him wisdom and spiritual perception as he studies and leads the Zeballos Cue church.

The Association of Teachers and Lecturers has its annual conference in Manchester. Pray for the motions debated and those who speak.  Pray that Christians in the Association (probably more than we think) are able to present their views.

Indonesia Gwyneth Jones says: In Indonesia many 'fields' need harvesters. Pray for our people to be prepared for the long haul of language and culture learning - to become as an Indonesian to the Indonesians - in order to communicate relevantly the message of reconciliation.
