The trustees of ACT are delighted to announce the appointment from September of two very experienced teachers who will share the leadership of the organization.
Clive Ireson has been appointed Director (Strategy). Throughout his teaching career of 32 years Clive has worked in various urban lower and primary schools. For the past 16 years Clive has been Head of a large primary school in Northampton. He was educated at Wellingborough Grammar School and Culham College, and holds an Advanced Diploma in Educational Management from the Open University. Clive attends Kingdom Life Church in Northampton where he has responsibility for developing the Family Centre at the church, following his retirement this summer. He will divide his time between that work and ACT, where he will be responsible for developing the strategy and vision of ACT, overseeing the office operation and developing links with the media.
Robert Hall has been appointed Director (Membership). Robert taught in the Birmingham area for 22 years. He served as Teacher Placement Organiser for Sandwell MBC and the Learning Skills Council from 1992 to 2004. For the last five years he has been the ATL Representative for Sandwell, during which time he has established close links with the 350-odd ATL members for whom he has responsibility. He is a long-standing ACT member, and has been greatly helped by ACT Days and training conferences he has attended. Robert will work to increase the membership of ACT and to make sure that the services provided to members are as good as they can be.
We hope that many of you will take the opportunity to meet Clive and Robert at ACT Day on Saturday 10 October in London. Clive and Robert bring complementary gifts and experience to the work of ACT and we feel sure they will provide the leadership to take ACT forward into its next stage of development. Please will you resolve to pray faithfully for Clive and Robert (as well as for Carol and Jan as they continue to work in the office in St. Albans).
